Samsung’s 2026 TV range has arrived

If you want better contrast and brightness without stepping up to Samsung's premium OLED models, the new Mini LED M70H range is where to look. This is a genuinely new tier for Samsung, not just an annual refresh, and it's available across pretty much whichever size you could want: 43, 50, 55, 65, 75 and 85 inch screens.

At the heart of the M70H is Mini LED backlighting with full-array local dimming, which uses far smaller - and far more - LEDs than standard LED displays. That precision gives the picture deeper blacks and brighter highlights, assisted by a dedicated Mini LED Processor 4K that upscales content and fine-tunes colour and clarity in real time. Pure Spectrum Colour technology sits alongside this, aiming for vivid, natural-looking colour without the picture looking oversaturated (something Samsung has long tried to achieve across its range).

The bigger technology story of 2026, though, is Micro RGB, an entirely new backlighting approach for Samsung, not a variation on QLED or Mini LED. The R85H range is available from Appliances Online in 55, 65, 75 and 85 inch screens.

Rather than the standard LED backlight, Micro RGB uses micro-sized red, green and blue LEDs directly, giving far more precise control over colour and brightness at a granular level. That means richer, more accurate colour and stronger contrast, with subtle tonal detail that standard backlighting tends to flatten out. A dedicated Micro RGB AI Engine manages colour, contrast and motion scene-by-scene, while Micro RGB HDR+ builds on standard HDR10 to reveal detail in both the darkest and brightest parts of the picture at once. As with the M70H, voice control is handled through Bixby.

Beyond the two new ranges, several of Samsung's established TV families have had a genuine update for 2026, rather than just a new model number.

Samsung OLED has had a full refresh across the board, from the flagship S99H down through the OLED S95H, S90H and S85H. The S95H uses Samsung's quantum dot-enhanced QD-OLED panel technology and now supports Motion Xcelerator 165Hz for exceptionally smooth motion, making it one of the strongest OLED TVs Samsung has built for gaming.

The standout change for everyday users, though, is that the glare-free matte display technology - previously reserved for Samsung's flagship OLED - has now made its way down to the mid-range S90H, meaning you can now get a genuinely glare-resistant OLED screen without paying the highest prices.
