    Same rust in old and new kettles
    I must admit I didn't take good care of my kettle. After I moved to a new home, I looked inside and found it's in a pretty bad state. It could be the result of lack of proper maintenance and perhaps the quality of the water in my old home. So I bought a new one to use in my new home. It's been less than 2 months, and the new kettle is starting to look just like the old one. The issue seems to be the quality of the stainless steel rather than the minerals in the water. It looks like rust instead of mineral deposits. I measured the TDS value of my tap water. It's 95 ppm and is of good quality. Now I'm lost. Should I try to clean the kettle or return it for a refund?

    Getting this as a replacement for my previous kettle which lasted for 10 years, until the on/off switch stopped working.
