We find this machine too complicated to program, two younger family relatives have spent a lot of time trying to programme it for us. The mapping has been performed and timer set for 8 am daily however Dyson has a different plan she prefers to come out to work at 12 midnight bashing her way around the kitchen which is above our bedroom and waking us up so I’ve had to deprive her of electricity to prevent this. When in the kitchen baking and i need her to help clean the floor she never completes the task fully, leaving behind flour on floor so I’m not sure how happy i am with this product, we have checked to make sure she is on UK time which it is so cannot solve this issue. I have always been a big fan of the Dyson Technology and my house is full of Dyson products however a poor star rating at the moment for this machine until someone can help me solve this issue please.

First of all, it does make a difference when a robot vacuum has a mopping function. Previously I had various small robovacs, and it's just not the same. With Dyson the floors are so clean I can walk walk barefoot, even with a cat shedding like crazy. There are many things I appreciate about this robot. It's relatively quite, it cleans well, and I like reusable waste bin. It mapped the house on the first try. When it shoots the green laser beam you can see how dirty the floor is even when you think it's tidy. The first clean took 5.5 hours across 900 sq ft of tiles, hardwood and carpet. It was very thorough. However the more often it cleans the shorter amount of time it needs. Now it's done in just under 2 h in vacuum and mope mode. The main reason why I bought this though was the respect to privacy. From what I was able to check it's the only robo vac on the market that does not store your data in the cloud (beyond things like the house map and cleaning schedule), and all the pictures processing happens within the robovac. There a few concerns though. Once installed the water bins cannot be opened to allow them to dry. When left unattended the dirty water can stink big time. I think it's the same issue across all robovacs but something to be aware of. You cannot keep dirty water inside the bin for a long time. Preferably it's emptied and dried after each clean. Another set of concerns is related to how the robo vac functions, which hopefully something that can be fixed in the future releases. If the robo vac gets stuck, and the battery dies, and then you put back to the charging station, it has no memory of what it was just doing. It's starts to recharge, marks cleaning as complete and doesn't dry the wet roller. You have to manually start drying the wet roller. And the cleaning would have to be restarted from scratch. It cannot continue from where it left. Another issue is how it manages cleaning multiple floors. It can map multiple floors, and it can recognize its position on any floor. However to start the cleaning it needs to wash the wet roller first. I don't know why it's needed if it's washed after every clean anyway. So the process of cleaning another floor is - 0) make sure that washing is set to once after every clean otherwise robovac will attempt to do it every 15 mins, 1) set the maps to another floor, 2) ignore the notification that main floor schedule will not be run until the maps are switched back, 3) start the cleaning, 4) wait until robovac done washing the wet roller, 5) pause the cleaning, 6) bring robovac to another floor, 7) unpause the cleaning, 8) bring robovac back to the charging station when it's done, 9) switch the maps back to the main floor. It's such a hassle and I don't understand why. If robovac can recognize where it is on any of the mapped floors, why do I have to do all of this map switching and waiting? I hope it will get fixed because the only workaround is to bring the charging station to another floor which I'm not doing because it's very very heavy. Overall I think it's the best robovac on the market in terms of how well it cleans and how it manages your data. Hopefully the app issues will get fixed soon. For this price it should be perfect.
